TROT Horse Riding Scheme

TROT enables local horse riders to avoid the hazards of busy roads by giving them access to more than 10 miles of off-road riding over open pastureland, arable fields, woodland trails, riverbank, quiet lanes and tracks, much of it around the Severn End estate.

There are plenty of long canter stretches as well as wonderful views across to the Malvern Hills and surrounding countryside. The scheme is part of TROT (Toll Rides Off-road Trust), which originated in 1990. Worcestershire is the fifth county to join the organisation and already has six networks established. Members are identified by a fluorescent hatband and carry a card. The countryside code of conduct is: take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints (or hoof prints), and kill nothing but time.
